Grand Prix Stables is located on 175+ acres of rolling, improved coastal grass land situated with easy access to IH35-W to the East. The property borders on FM 407 to the North and Mulkey Lane to the South.
The impressive entrance acts as an invitation to the spectacular half mile drive to the main barn. This drive can also act as a landing strip. The paved roads throughout the property are lined with 230 producing pecan trees. The front half of the property is divided by pipe fencing into turn out paddocks of approximately 14 acres each. Each turnout paddock has a large metal loafing shed with an adjoining lighted room which would hold approximately 250 square bales of hay and/or grain. Each paddock has an automatic watering trough. Multiple gates connect the paddocks to facilitate ease of work for the caretaker.
The main barn is a fancy Kentucky style structure that has 17 oversized stalls finished with rubber stall mats. Two of the stalls act as foaling or recovery stalls in that there is video monitoring with radiant heat above. The video camera feeds back to a watch room with fold down bedding platform, bath facilities, and washer/dryer connections. There is a large padded wash stall situated next to a client lounge. A tack and feed room house the automatic fly spray system. This main barn also includes an office, public restroom, and multiple storage areas to round out the first floor.
The second floor houses a large one bedroom, one bath apartment with glass exposure to the North and South of the property. Balconies on either side of the apartment allow the occupant a glorious view of the property from the front entrance to the back of the property which is another ~ mile to the back gate. The third floor of the main barn has a two bedroom, two bath apartment which has even better views of the property from the glass exposure to the North and South. A wonderful kitchen on the third floor is basked with sunlight from the great skylight which is located in the center copula of the barn. To the East of the Main barn is a large 10 stall mare and foal barn in which 5 of the stalls open to a large paddock and 5 open to another large paddock for easy separation. This stall arrangement is separated by another tack and feed room.
To the South and East of the Main barn is a 16 stall racing barn. There is wash rack, tack room and groom's quarters within the racing barn. This barn is just North of a half-mile regulation race track complete with starting gates.
To the South and West of the Main barn is a covered round pen. This has lighting, an observation deck and great footing for the training of the horses.
The living quarters on the property are connected to aerobic water treatment systems to facilitate "green" use for the waste produced on the property. There is also an RV cleanout station conveniently located on the drive.
